 BY-ELECTIONS 2017
MARY HERDMAN POLLS 14%
 IN EYE, THORNEY & NEWBOROUGH

Graham Whitehead, Branch Chairman
Published September 10th 2017

At the Eye, Thorney & Newborough by-election which took place on September 7th, Mary Herdman polled an excellent 14% of the vote.

Considering we are poling 4% or less nationally this was a fantastic result for the Party and shows what can be done with a good campaign and a great local candidate.

However, we need to be challenging to win seats rather than just doing well; UKIP needs strong leadership both nationally and locally and we must rebuild the Party starting at our Party Conference (see Upcoming Events).

Our Leadership Election is upon us and it’s imperative that we choose a leader with credibility on the national stage who can unite the Party and inspire our voters to return to us, securing a strong vote in next year’s Council elections.
